The Indian national football team, led by Sunil Chettri, will be a part of Asia’s biggest football event for the fifth time, the AFC Asian Cup. India, for the first time in their long footballing history, has qualified for two consecutive AFC Asian Cups.
The 2023 edition of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 will kick off on January 12, 2024, in Qatar. The hosts will be looking forward to defending their title after emerging as the champions in the previous edition.
Team India is placed in Group B alongside Australia, Uzbekistan, and Syria. The Blue Tigers will begin their campaign on January 13, 2024, when they take on Australia in their first match at the Ahmad Bin Ali stadium in Qatar
24 teams will be participating in the 18th edition of the AFC Asian Cup. These participating teams have been divided into six groups of four teams each. Four teams from each group will be playing against each other. The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-place teams, will advance to the knockout round.
